About Prehospital Paradigm

Prehospital Paradigm is dedicated to the education of all providers in the prehospital care of patients. This endeavor was started by John Hill, MD, Scott Wildenheim, Paramedic, Caleb Ferroni, Paramedic, and Ray Pace, Paramedic, with the release of the first podcast in 2023. The Prehospital Paradigm Podcast was the original focus of this group. We then expanded the Prehospital Paradigm to include all the various publications and trainings provided under the UH EMS umbrella, and to begin to seek out collaborators for additional content for this site. This umbrella vision will include all FOAMed produced by UH EMS.

We work with The University Hospitals EMS Training & Disaster Preparedness Institute which is dedicated to all facets of emergency services and provides unparalleled emergency care throughout our community hospitals. They support Fire Departments, Special Rescue Teams, and EMS Agencies across northern Ohio by providing initial and continuing education in all disciplines. They provide area Firefighters, EMS, and Hospital Workers with access to the finest initial training and continuing education through cutting-edge classroom courses, physician lectures, and instructor-prepared online education solutions.

GIVE BLOOD

We have partnered with Vitalant Blood Donation to increase the blood supply in Northeast Ohio, ensuring that hospitals and patients have the lifesaving resources they need. Every unit of blood can save up to three lives, making blood donation one of the most impactful ways to support those in critical need and help treat trauma patients, neonates, individuals undergoing surgery, and those with chronic illnesses like cancer and blood disorders.
